For Apple: you missed one. There was either a black or white apple which replaced the rainbow-colored one that was used between starting 1998 when the iMac was released and both are still being used today along with the one posted as the latest logo.
I still remember the first ones! A bit nostalgic perhaps!

Great examples of the evolution of logo design! It reminds oneself that logo design sometimes never stops once it’s completed.

The first Apple logo is… not very good. It’s ill-conceived and looks like it belongs in the nineteenth century. (:

I wish Apple would go back to their first logo! The steampunk look is very cool. Single shape, stampable logos are overrated.
